Sunday's Storm Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Sunday's Storm

Do not accept the call on the other end
Stay within reach my dear friend
You are the sun shining light upon the darkness.
You are the kindness that softens the hardness.
You are the embodiment of love in a world full of hate
When you are around so much warmth fills the room
You are the water to plants so that they can bloom
Something far ahead would suddenly arise because birds fly south when they feel a shift
Each day you grew distant but couldn't avoid being another name on the list
When you've accepted the call, I've said to ignore.
Now you're no longer here, not anymore
