Sunday Afternoon Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

Sunday Afternoon

Rating: 5.0

I saw a beautiful woman;
I saw her beautiful smile.
It was in church one Sunday afternoon;
and that smile you could see for a mile.

She was wearing a long blue dress;
long dresses make me crazy I confess.
She was smiling at me when we spoke,
and we sat together in church - oh yes!

We looked deeply into each other's eyes,
and we both enjoyed being together.
Her eyes were like a window to her soul;
you could have knocked me over with a feather.

I still see that beautiful lady on Sunday,
and I remember that wonderful afternoon.
She still smiles that radiant smile;
I hope we sit together again soon.
