Sun Down-Son Up Poem by Franklin Spriggs

Sun Down-Son Up

Rating: 3.5

I've asked a question of myself,
Why do I feel so blue,
At the going down of the sun,
When the day is through.

It felt good to get out of bed,
As the sun brought in the dawn,
Little birds up in the trees,
Began to sing their song.

Feeling good all day long,
Just going here and there,
Enjoying the day before me,
No worries, no problems, no cares.

But I reasoned in my mind,
Then my question became true,
One day the sun shall set,
When my time on earth is through.

Never to see the light of day,
No more sunsets to view alone,
But a new day is dawning,
When I reach my brand new home.

Where the Son is never setting,
And I never shall feel blue,
I'll be in the arms of Jesus,
My friend, I hope to see you too.
