Summer Night Poem by KunJung Hsiao

Summer Night

Rating: 5.0

The passions of the ocean call me from the tumult in the temple fair
When colors of sunset melt into the shadows of the waves.
Drums resounded in my mind are hushed into peace,
As the whispers of the wind are in harmony with the song of the ocean.

The passions of this summer bring me the blessing in the air
When silhouettes of seagulls fly across the darkening clouds.
Thoughts are hidden in my heart appear with silence,
As the shadow of the coconut trees caresses my face.

Who sparks the stars to pat the dark sky?
Who sails the boats to soothe the waves in the moonlight?
There are no words while the ocean sings a lullaby.
There are no thoughts while the island forgotten by the world is in a dream.
