Summer Child - Poem by Francis Santaquilani

swing, swing

on a yellow swing,

swing high, higher

higher, hair in the clouds,

smile smudged, blue eyes blur

nose pressed to blue sky,

sing, sing,

swinging, swinging

swinging on a sunny day,

swinging, swinging,

swinging the day away,

smile, smile,

laugh and fly off, jump, hop

run wild,

toes touching the sun

heels on fire

laugh, laugh,

always be my summer child.
