Stuck In The Past Poem by Judy Hill

Stuck In The Past

Things seem fine. Everything
was well,
Until you left me and went to
jail.

My walls closed in, my heart
did break,
My soul did tremble, didn’t
know how much I could take.

Finding out you lied, you
never told the truth ever,
You looked me in my face,
you thought that you were
clever.

You said you loved me, you
said you always will,
You just wanted to get a
reaction,
You just wanted to get a thrill.

But you know what? I got over
that.
I got over you, and got my life
back on track.

A year went by and your
name came up,
My smiled did show, my
heart filled like a cup.

Thinking of the nights we
talked on the phone.
The sweet things you said,
the sweet little songs.

Thinking of the nights we
made passionate love,
well sex.
Caressing my body, I
didn’t know what was
next.

Well thinking about you
and being with you is
another thing,
When ever you get out
you can give me a ring.
