Streetlight Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Streetlight

Rating: 4.5

Nobody remembers you in the daytime
till you glow in the evening
as darkness gathers around
you are the noiseless saviour
showing us the path
the mysterious friend of worms
helping them to die!
yesterday the summer storm
made you dead
the entire town looked like a ghost
set my mood for poetry
but alas! you suddenly started glowing
lest I may think ill of you.
