Stormy Nightmare Poem by Carly Kisley

Stormy Nightmare

Clouds start to form, rain starts to fall
There I am standing in an open field, nowhere to run
One look at you, stumbling over my own two feet I go
There I fall into the warm embrace of your arms
Thought you were the light
Thought you were pulling me out of the storm
No, it was just a cover
Instead of the light, it was the dark that keep getting darker
Blind, I just couldn’t see it
Brought in drugs
Brought in alcohol
Never saw the harm
Living “young, wild, free”, right?
Personality fades
Friends become enemies
Family? No, shut them out too
You were the only one that I wanted in this world.
You got what you wanted then said to leave
Yelled and through a fit, but I left like you said
I thought you loved me, it was all just a game
Never felt so low, and never will again
Goodnight horrible nightmare
