Stormy Night Poem by Michael Peterson

Stormy Night

Rating: 4.5

Clouds filling the skies
Beautiful lighting show in the distance
Flashing like a disco ball, exciting for all
Winds picking up, swirling around
A light sprinkle, a thunderous bang
Scattering birds from a bird feeder
The rain comes pouring, birds soaring
Windows closing, umbrellas opening
The storm is coming to brew
Rolling and going the rain keeps flowing
The road becomes creeks, then to rivers
Lighting and thundering to a different beat
Rain turns to hail, a thing to a ding
It taps to nature's beat
How long the storm
Moving rapidly, quickly its gone
How calm it got before dawn
What a beautiful storm

A nice depiction of a stormy night, well articulated, nicely encapsulated and penned with insight. A good poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
