Stories Poem by erin maher

Stories

I knew this would come
the day you would try
to break my heart
and make me cry

Now I sit here
and look like a fool
I don't even wanna look at you
on the street or at school

You played me
with your little games
I thought I would win
I lost, and I'm the one to blame

I fell in your heart
of tricks and lies
and didn't let anyone see
how much of me dies

I hide it like roses
with a big beautiful smile
when really, the thorns
have been out for a while

I have so much
that I could say
there's so many stories
I hide each day

The stories to tell
could blow your mind
your present and future
will follow right behind

You said goodbye
you let me go
if you want me back
screw off, I don't want to know
