Stay Away From Greed Poem by Randy McClave

Stay Away From Greed

How can a soul truly be freed
When all we think about is greed,
To have more becomes an insatiable need
To which unto ruin, It will lead.

Unto all I do solemnly plead
As I and all should announce our creed,
Not for wealth and possessions will I bleed
As though an oath I sign on a deed.

There is an man who is treed
There is a woman who is trying to succeed,
A child's life which was guaranteed
Now excessive rapacious desire creates an evil stampede.

From the Bible I do earnestly read
Generosity and apathy is a great steed,
Selfishness and gluttoness is an evil weed
From which we must ignore and concede.

Humanity started from just a seed
From which we learn and then to feed,
To which God has said, "Heed"!
"We all must stay away from greed".
