Stained Images Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Stained Images

Paying to maintain stained images.
Hyped.
On mold sold and polished imitations.
Tattered.
Scattered upon streets trashed.
Leaving the only thing that matters,
Are impressions made from a faded past.
And created to market the feeding of greed.
Unfortunately common sense,
Had not been prioritized to top the list.
Since greed to feed,
Has been perceived to be limitless.

So does faking the greatness of foundations.
Especially when they begin to crumble.
While thieves sit in positions of leadership.
Outnumbering the handcuffs,
That should be tightened around their wrists.
But this to do,
Would be too humiliating...
Among those debating which action to take.
To save what has already been outdated.
Faked by pretensions window dressed.
Smothered to death under imposed incompetence.
Attempting not to expose insecurities.

Hoping to keep hidden,
As the cause and reason...
Why a quality of life continues to bleed.
Cascading down hills,
Of manicured deceptions.
Just to protect those with defected mentalities!
Represented around the World to present,
What thoughtless unconscious minds...
Perceive is their best to reflect.
With more of it left to come.
