St. Maria Teresa Goretti Poem by Dr John Celes

St. Maria Teresa Goretti

You can become a saint as well,
If you can live for Christ;
Declared, you can be saint on earth,
If you can die, for Him.

You can be saint at any age,
Living life righteously;
Both martyrs, saints are holy souls,
God-chosen for His ways.

The girl defying rape in life,
Became its patron saint;
Maria Goretti had turned
Chastity's patroness.

She stayed a virgin unto death,
Resisting mortal sin;
She gave her attacker, lilies
That melted in dream's hands.

God glorifies martyrs and saints,
In His abode heaven;
He forgives sins of sinners all,
Who plead for forgiveness.
