Spring Poem by Michael Crawford

Spring

Hooray, Hooray, the sun is here
The clouds and rain is gone, nothing to fear
Open your windows let the fresh air in
I need to write a letter, hand me a pen

The winter has been long, so very long
I was bored so much, I had to write a song
Tulips are up, the trees are in bloom
The path do the door is dusty, time to grab a broom

Time to go fishing and find a place to camp
My tent will go where it's no longer damp
I will dust off my toy, my best ATV
Before I go camping, I must do a shopping spree

Time to plan for things to do
So many places to choose, I must decide where to
Rivers are now running and the fish can be seen
Soon I will say, I have too many fish to clean

The moss will drop, no more will show
The place I camp, the wind can surely blow
That's ok, things move in the air
I still will go camping, and have no cares

Our sun helps us all to keep active and fit
Such a big campground I have, everywhere to sit
Soon the day will end and the sun will go down
Sometimes when camping, I want to wander into town

This is a time to get out and be warm
Everyone can agree, this is the norm
Two weeks will come and then be in my camp
I was told by friends, please bring oil for your old lamp

Spring is a time for us to renew
You can act and feel different then be asked, you are who?
I will count each day for every passing week
When you are in the wilderness, you just can't be meek

So everyone rejoice, spring is here
I will express my joy to all, all will hear
Outdoor life brings happiness and inner peace
I have been thinking, next spring, I see a trip to Greece

We work so hard to get so much done
The time is now so we must go out and have fun
Time will come and time will be lost
Do what you can now, soon you will see frost
