Yearnings of the flesh do not equate
To the real concept of what Love is.
Pleasures alone will but negate
The caring bond of a long-term bliss.

Love seeks the good and all the best,
Forgives and never seeks getting even
Love comforts, nurtures, protects,
At all times it is constant, always given.

Love does not keep a nagging score,
A litany of wrongs and spiteful words.
Patience, Kindness, spell what Love's for-
It's beyond the union a bed accords.
