Dad, I know you loved this time of year,
A time with the Family full of Festive cheer,
You loved it more than most you did,
Because the homes didn’t celebrate when you were a kid.
Just one present at Christmas you were donated,
But from where or whom could never be located,
For 24 hours you could enjoy this donation,
Next day it became part of the homes toy collection.
Your Family Christmas was a different account,
With so many presents, to many to count,
All for you stacked in a heap,
Gifts with name tags and yours to keep.
I’m glad I shared these special times with you,
Nothing I enjoyed more or wanted to do,
I miss you so much I try not to be sad,
But at this special time I miss you Dad.
