Sounds Of Romance Poem by Imelda Ortega Suzara

Sounds Of Romance

Gliding fingers on keys on a nocturne,
Mind and heart intent on composition,
The Maestro's face expressed a taciturn
Smile. Back hurting, he shifted position
Continuing his frustrating straggles,
Deciding which keys and sounds, up or down,
To match his heart and passionate struggles.
Flowing music -with hesitating frown,
He put a pause and stop determining
That cautiousness in courtship was needed.
Falling in love then marriage -what meaning
Could be gained or lost if someone weeded
Out the unworthy suitor, romantic
But impractical, headlong and frantic?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is about a romantic music composer whose personality influenced his music in its flow and tempo, sometimes hesitant sometimes headlong and reckless, sometimes hopeful sometimes despairing. Based also on Chopin's romantic nocturnes and waltzes variations in tempo, volume and scaling.
