Sounds Of Marching Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Sounds Of Marching

Sounds of marching
As in drill
Steps martial
One on one
Quite mechanical
In the silence of the graves
In the burning orange light
In the roaming of the ghosts
In the sighing of the shrouds
In the waters gurgling down
In the thrill of shades and
Lights
In the open mouth
Of the jaw less cemetery
In the summit of a night
Skeletons turned restless in their tombs
As fetuses in their wombs
As the waters gurgled down
In the thrill of shades and
Lights
In the dancing of a moon.
