Soulmate Poem by Suresh Dogra

Soulmate

Leaves leave the tree
Branches don't
Water flows down the river
Banks stand unmoved
Night turns its back on the sun
Light goes with it
Breezes touch and blow away
Air hangs around
Youth leaves man in the lurch
Body stays till the end
Stars shy away from the day
The sky remains amiable
A mistress deserts her lover
The soul-mate dies with him
