Sonnet Poem by Suresh Dogra

Sonnet

When beauty strikes the lover's heart in pride
Heart sees in the stranger a lovable kin
Dreams stream in to hold in arms lovely bride
Mind races for plans the darling to win

Passion pushes the tongue to meekly plead
With keen hope the lover's flowery words ring
He fears he may fail, he may yet succeed
His hopes and fears like a pendulum swing

He who never knew God kneels down to pray
Sensing good signs, his throbbing heart feels warm
Luck smiles at last on a fine sunny day
How gorgeous she looks, what angelic charm

Their all those good intentions have borne good fruit
Ecstasy of nights, dawn stands to salute
