Soul Under Fire Poem by Jacob Bland

Soul Under Fire

What we see is imperfection
What we seek is misdirection

The soul guided by fear
The real enemy is near

It's in our houses
It can be in our spouses

The tainted earth is pain
It shows us every stain

It seeks to destroy
They enlist and deploy

Your choice is simple
Not hidden in a dimple

Choose love or fun
Take peace or the gun

We've not long in this place
Don't let yourself be just a face

Bring this world from the bad
Change this earth to be glad

Seek the truth and be free
Or seek fun and become we
