Soul Kiss Poem by Katherine de Castro

Soul Kiss

She sits at the piano,
And the keys become
Black and white blurs,
As her brown eyes fill.

Tender notes that
Float,
Out of the open window,
That looks out to Paradise.

The sun is setting behind
The mountains, so carefree,
You’d think that something
That big would have bigger worries.

Tears roll down her cheeks,
As the wind blows in
And kisses her cheek,
Whispering to her which notes to play.

She wipes her eyes,
And resumes her song,
And the notes take wing,
And fly far into the sunset.

She is here in her music room,
With the keys under her fingertips,
The only place she can let out her emotions,
And let her soul speak.

Closing her eyes,
As she plays her soulful melody,
She is all alone,
And that is just the way she wants to be.

Alone.
