there are people who are deep
they say stuff that move us
there are people who are soul deep
you can see it when they look at you
you can hear it every time they open their mouths
you can feel it whenever you are near them

yes, they are soul deep

they are so deep
when you look into their eyes
it's like looking through a telescope
that shows you how deep you can see

they are so deepwhen you hear them
it's like they are talking to you from another place
a place where you can feel safe and understood

they are so deep that when you walk by them
you can feel that they know something
they know things that you have forgotten
but when you see them you are reminded

there are people who are deep
so deep that you feel the same
like you are kindred
like you are home
so deep that you feel as though
you have swam to the inner depths
of your being
