Soul Dance Poem by Yewande Adedokun

Soul Dance

A sinful conscience it is called
My heart beats the drum with him in sight
And our pulse finds the rhythm
The dance then begins

Eyes closed in locked lips
Electrifying touches to set the soul free
A sudden freedom from fear and all that could go wrong
Heaven is closer now, I feel I might sing
And then I begin to sing
A tune only the realm understands

Purpose creeps in as a timer
The drum beat stops, To want more, you must fall in love
Fear takes over and wins again
We plan to try again and hold on forever
Maybe one day we will win
