Sometime In July Poem by Yewande Adedokun

Sometime In July

It was a long stroll in a dark sunshine
I was yours and you were mine
We talk, we hope by the sky it was all a plan
All these happened in September
We were young but we were strong
We made a wall no one can pass through but us
We walked this part side by side holding hands
Suddenly, you ask I take a step back
This happened sometime in July
I was not angry or mad I can't even if I try
All I Am kin on was to know why
I did as you asked after all it was summer
You had no reason and it was disappointing
But Am your number one fan
Call me your paparazzi
I am not mad, I pray for you
You look back to see if Am still behind you
Yes I am, you don't need to ask
You might have kissed the left side and I the right
I gaze at your direction to know you are safe
Make yourself what you wish from life
I will still take your pictures from afar
It was more than love and more than love I still see dear
