Sorry I Arrived But I Must Poem by Victor Cruickshank

Sorry I Arrived But I Must

The time for man to die is due
A day to die hath come
Through thick and thin, man has lived
Life is short and man must die today
I come to take you to the grave
I come to welcome you
For all the generous things you gave
All your wages are due
Oh yes I come to take you
Those people in your house who grieve
None of them even cared for you
When you were sick, did they visit?
And now they are here to babysit
Those whom you fed and those you clothed
They fed and cared for thee when in need
Oh yes I came to take you
I came to welcome you
Now you are free of war and sickness and pain and buying gasoline
You have gained a lot but lost a few, God bless little Caroline
For eternal life in this place is a treasure to be loved
And her life in that world will be great and fully lived
Sorry I arrived but I must.
