Sorry Eyes Poem by Nick Downer

Sorry Eyes

I need no sorry eyes,
they are expectant,
full of hope or confussion,
or worse, nothing.
I will fill them with tears.
I will ruin the hope there.
The best thing for you,
that will ever happen to you,
can be found in me
but it's covered too deep,
by all my disappointments,
and confussion that is loses itself inside.
I have no teeth
yet I manage to bite
too hard.
