Sonnet: On Kaitlyn's Baptism Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On Kaitlyn's Baptism

Today, I've started my journey with God!
Like how John baptized Christ, I'm baptized too;
The priest has drawn the sign of cross on head -
With water ‘Christening', what Christians all do.

I'm dressed in snow-white- sign of purity;
Through Baptism, Original Sin has left;
My soul now stays with God in amity;
This Sacrament gives grace with sin bereft.

Today, I have begun my life with Christ;
The Holy Church assigned me God-parents;
This state of soul on earth is highly priced;
How well I keep my soul, on me depends.

The water poured and blessed by priest is sign;
From now, my soul begins its life divine.
