Sonnet 5 (With A Slight Resemblance To Shakespeare's Sonnet 18) Poem by Biwot Kevin

Sonnet 5 (With A Slight Resemblance To Shakespeare's Sonnet 18)

Shall I compare you to a red rose
Or else a charming lily purely white
For wherever thy magnetic soul goes
My heart follows but with blind delight
For many similes mesmerized men did create
Thy seraphic beauty with words but to measure
For surely into the senseless hearts you did permeate
And even to the birds of the air you are a treasure
But are you a rose bright and red
Whose splendor whose sweetness will fade
Or are you that shining star
Which in the sky scintillates from afar
Truly my love if you are a star
Then many would wish astronomers they were
