Song Unfinished**

I don't recall we ever had a song,
Not being long enough together.
I suppose the way you plucked and strummed
My dad's f-fret guitar, and sang some lines
From Strawberry Fields will have to do.
For a while, after you, I'd close my eyes
Try to forget. Their words were wrong; it felt
No easier. Had I misunderstood?
