Song Of A Lovelorn Welshman Poem by Thomas Vaughan Jones

Song Of A Lovelorn Welshman

Rating: 5.0

Oh Cariad! My Cariad!
My soul is black with loss
remembering those moments
that we shared;
but now you're gone forever,
and my eyes are drowned in tears.
For Love is dead!
and all else seems absurd.

Once, you and I were wild winds
who could ride a cloudless sky;
Immortals in our magic wonderland
while secret whispers sang for us
our own sweet lullaby,
in words that only we could understand.

You left me in one moment,
and the world turned cold and grey.
Our Summer sunshine
turned to Autumn rain;
my life is in suspension
since the day you went away;
and love must pause
till you return again.
