Love had never found her
Back in her younger years
While other girls went out on dates
She spent each night with her tears
She always wondered out loud
If love would ever come her way
She thought about it often
Like, just about every day
She could never understand
Why love seemed to pass her by
She wasn't sure if it was her
So alone in her room she'd cry
But than one day in her later years
She met herself a man
Slowly they fell in love
Soon they stared to plan
They picked out a wedding date
They planned it in September
Than together they agreed
It would be a wedding to remember
She had learned through the years
That finding true love took time
Like with anything else in life
Sometimes, we just have to stand in line

Beautiful poem. Vividly portraying the feelings with passing of the time. Reminds me of " You Can't Hurry Love" by " Holland–Dozier–Holland" , recorded by " The Supremes" in 1966.
