Sometimes Poem by Eric Mutei

Sometimes

Rating: 5.0

The line between-
Rights and wrongs,
Ends and beginnings,
Is nothing but
Shreds of fear…
Clouded thoughts…
And whispers of “don’t do”
From the voices of our yesteryear-s
our younger days
Sometimes-
Ends will turn to new beginnings-
But not everyone
Learns from past mistakes
Some, many, choose to stay
Crippled in fear of walking away…
Coloring tattoos of dried tears-
Nursing wounds that run deep…
Shiny scars,
Souvenirs of battles survived
Saying all it is to say

See! !
At times, it is not okay
To walk away
To save yourself-
Case of putting off the flame with flight,
“Pain demands to be felt” John Green
Pain is salvation
Pain is light…
Pain is focus…
Just the right amount! ! !
First scars never really fade,
And to some the only redemption
There is;
Is facing ghosts of yesterday
Charting in those jaded paths;
Dancing in the drab-
And finding color
In the darkest of places

SOMETIMES,
When this happens,
Some, many, get lost,
Others, a few, thrive
Roses sprouting from the rocks…
And this medley of experiences
Colors the universe,
And humors God- the turn
the growth of his creation….

Beautiful poem. Our rights and wrongs stem from our fears and prejudices. Well said. Thanks. But not everyone Learns from past mistakes Some, many, choose to stay Crippled in fear of walking away…
