Soft Silver Moonlight Poem by Elia Michael

Soft Silver Moonlight

Soft silver moonlight streams through the black night
Bathing the earth in a pale ghostly light
The stars in the sky pay the moon homage
They dim thus giving her great advantage
Selene shines nobly and serenely
As she has done for aeons faithfully
I gaze entranced at her luminous form
As flying dancing moths around her swarm

Pray to this shining heavenly body
Admire her argentine form and beauty
Glory in her gentle luminescence
No other is her peer in night's heavens

My gaze is brought back to the earth below
Time to sleep, to dream of silver moon's glow
