Social Media -Unsocially. Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

Social Media -Unsocially.

Happy face, sad face, smiley face, dead
Put on pics of yesterdays stale bread
Photos of you when you were ten
And all the stuff you knew back then
Posts of that new inner strength
Old used clothes now the wrong length
Waiting for likes and thumbs up
Road rage and kittens and beautiful stuff
How well you were going yesterday
Then how to euthanise today
Selling yourself out with a laugh
Then the best way to have a bath
It plays havoc in my head
Turns my thoughts to dread
All my senses it took
Lets just have one more look
Addiction you say
To what, to what, answer I in dismay.

Spoke to the birds and fishes and creatures all round
No trolling or strife did they reply. No none to be found.
