So Far Away Poem by Mel. D.

So Far Away

As the world winds down and goes to sleep,
My eyes refuse to close and my mind to dream.
Instead my thoughts penetrate my heart deep
As you become my brain's recurring theme.

I wonder about you and if you had a good day,
About who has gotten to be in your presence,
About what you have been doing so far away,
And about the day you finally quit your absence.

My heart simply melts at the thought of you,
My soul silently dripping down my cheek,
Resonating in my mind 'till everything is through
And in the morning to you I can finally speak.

At some point in the night I finally slip into dreamland
And dream of your chocolate eyes meeting mine,
Of getting to walk beside you holding your hand,
Of never again letting go once in a hug we entwine.
