So Easily Forgotten Poem by Michael John Cook

So Easily Forgotten

Surrounded by friends
Yet so alone
A means to an end
A king overthrown
Lost to the past
Forgotten in lore
A ship with no mast
Washed ashore
A street with no name
No dwellers in sight
An unfinished game
No winner outright
A baron wasteland
Remote and unseen
A discarded plan
An unrealised dream
