So Bitter Are My Tears - Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

They refuse
To fall
Locked here
In my granite heart
Which has no beat...

So bitter are my tears,
I am drowning,
Drowning in the overflow
I say...

Where is that promised
Tomorrow?

    Yesterday was a lost dream
    Today is a real promise
And tomorrow will be the burial of hope and promises (Report) Reply

    Remote tomorrows
    Teasing promises
    Locked tears
    Ah, isn't life
    A small part of
    A mysterious madness? (Report) Reply
