Snow In Arizona Poem by dave lessard

Snow In Arizona

Snow in Arizona,
like a gem,
rare and beautiful,
whichever county you're in.
It doesn't last too long here,
in the place we call our home;
but that's okay with us,
we don't much like to roam.
I did that in my youth,
the gypsy wandering thing;
the life of a traveling man,
didn't get what it all did bring.
Just the beauty of the landscape,
the view of the lonely road;
the waits on rides that never came,
too much of a weary load.
Too much of the endless miles,
that never seemed to end;
too much of the loneliness,
around the curving bend.
Oh yeah, snow in Arizona,
it's like postcard coming down;
funny, how white and soft it is,
and how it never makes a sound.
