Smothered To Leave Smoldering Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Smothered To Leave Smoldering

Such passion to have it.
Can be a hazard of a habit.
To become a need to feed an addiction.
Smothered to leave smoldering,
Sensibilities.
Making sensitive the ability,
A kept consciousness seduced.
Hoping quickly,
To be left helpless to the affect,
Of being subjected...
To the effectiveness unexpected.

When attracted to a love for another,
No one can deny...
Receiving too hot to disbelieve.
Or refuse to submit to its power.
The strength of it magnetizes.

"Oh, please.
Not now.
You leave me too weak."

-And...
I can not pretend,
Your weakness is not my own.
To you to admit,
I am wishing and wanting...
Both of us to just submit to it!
This...
Magnetism.

Surrender.
Surrender.
Surrender! -
