Smoke Signals Poem by manda dutson

Smoke Signals

Smoke signals silently sent
In thick, black, audible clouds
Lifting weights out of my lungs
And the cigarette I just put out.
You can't take that back, this
Denial only stings your eyes.
Will it dissipate or descend
Filtering itself through streams
This canyon of my life and
The eclipse of friendships time.
