Smile At A Girl Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Smile At A Girl

Rating: 5.0

Eating canned beans
And saying a brief grace,
I walk out into the cool night
And wink at stars.
I know there is suffering
In this cobweb entangling universe,
But everyday I fall in love
And smile at a girl,
And sometimes she smiles back.

I'm so glad you do Uriah, pass a smile on to someone else and it soon goes all the way around the world. Very nice write, loved it. Love Ernestine XXX

This is so wistful and simple that it brings tears to my eyes, Uriah...you eat cold beans and wink at stars? Such a sad image...Heat up the beans and let the stars wink at you. :) Raynette

Uriah - sounds like it doesn't take much to make you happy. Smiles are always appreciated. Carefree and light - nice poem to start the morning off with. Linda

Beautiful simplicity. Whyis the end so deeply touching, juxtaposed as it is with the foregoing mundanity of beans? ! Don't know, but it is. t x
