Our economy in tatters
Dishonest leadership for starters
Prices of goods and services astronomical
Water borne diseases gastronomical
We have no freedom to protest
Like in a kingdom no contest
The weather has been bad
Drought making us really sad
Some people committing suicide
Authorities committing homicide
Bards jailed
Governance failed
We are getting poor
That's the truth pure

Bogeyman stands arms akimbo
Having put our future in limbo
His voice amplified for miles
"Smile Zimbabwe! Smile! "
Excepting there is nothing to smile about
He has the audacity and temerity to shout
"Smile Zimbabwe! Smile! "
We are not smiling
We are not liking
This situation where promises are made
We will be middle income by twenty thirty he said
What makes them think with Covid and poverty we will be spared.
The masquerade continues so vile
"Smile Zimbabwe! Smile! "
