Smelling Sweet Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Smelling Sweet

Rating: 4.3

Smelling so sweet
You lay down here at my feet
Cut down in your prime
A heinous crime
When we first met
I cannot forget
Oh that sweet flagrance
Sent me into a trance
Delighted my sense
At others expense
Willowy and tall
You stood out above them all
Perfect in everyway
That rosy glow
I got so well to know
Attracted me
As if I were a bee
That honey pot you displayed
Drew them from afar, they are not dismayed
Feasting on your inner core
They all came back wanting for more
But it’s come to pass
As you lay stretched on the grass
Some despised you
As wild you grew
Oh honeysuckle fair
I’m one that does care
I will let you grow tall
So wild on my wall
