Small...... Yet Big Poem by Valsa George

Small...... Yet Big

Rating: 5.0

Even a wayside weed can ignite
Greater passion in the heart
Than a well potted garden plant
At the centre of a tastefully landscaped plot

Even a child’s prank can be more hilarious
Than all the cranky jokes of an acclaimed comedian
Even in the warble of a lonesome bird
There can be more flooding melody
Than in the well tuned violin of a music maestro
There can be greater poetry in a simple ditty
Than in all the lines of verse in a great epic
A tear drop may contain greater salinity
Than all the waters of a great ocean
Perhaps a simple nod of head or a wink of the eye
Communicates much more than a whole bunch of words

I don’t know why I love the dainty flowers of May
More than perhaps the exotic lotus of the day
Don’t we love the homemade fare served with love
More than all the delectable cuisines of a posh restaurant

The small things of life thus,
Prove much bigger than big things

Just as the joy of life is not always ruined by fatal errors
But by the recurrence of injurious little things,
Greatness is achieved not through momentous actions
But by the little things done in a great way

Small...... Yet Big

great philosophy of life, every possible thing done in different way is not trifle, everything in the world possesses it's greatness itself, and one who can perceive value in them, is also great. thank you

Yes. when we see meaning in the little things of life, in everyday life, then we see that these little things are the threads that hold the spool. The childs pranks are so original than the dramatic act on a stage. Sometimes silence can speak better than words. and at times a layman's words holds more depth than a thoughtful verse from books. Little drops of water..... Little grains of sand.......

My wife came back last night after two months in Jeddah and my best friend came back after a fortnight. I don't know where was my friend? A wayside weed ignite great passion in the heart and inspired me to write a few poems like It's Not a Love Story, A Flying Kiss, A Mini Skirt, Who Am I, The Nameless Sentiments, Shadows of Lucy And Wordsworth, and, Shivering Moon. I hope you will read the poems one by one and understand the entire story. If you find any difficulty in understanding it I shall send you a message. Now coming to your poem, it's outstanding Valsa......................10

The poem tell us about a number of small actions, things, utterances etc. which have a bigger impact than the so called bigger things. You have rightly said: The small things of life thus, Prove much bigger than big things

A very truthful fact is said here in this poem siting so various examples. Yes, we find more honesty, pleasure and nearness in the simple, natural and homely things than that one being decorated or sophisticated. We love to swim in a lake or sea than in a decorated swimming pool. Thanks for sharing

As enunciated in the poem small things like a way side flower and a child's prank, the melody of a lonesome bird, a drop of tear, homemade fare are all things that enhance the beauty and are more powerful. Truly said, Valsa! Enjoyed your lovely poem as well as the picture that follows.

Truely envisioned. Really small thing has much more power than the big one. We should not treat small as triflng one. Nicely presented with best phraseology in a metaphoric way. The favourite lines are....Even a child’s prank can be more hilarious Than all the cranky jokes of an acclaimed comedian.............A tear drop may contain greater salinity Than all the waters of a great ocean. Many many thanks dear madam, may God increase your poetic imagination. .... 10
