Now I lay me down to rest
But still I do not sleep
My heart does pound within my chest
As I lay in darkness deep
My eyes burdened, so weary
Yet still they do not close
Within this dark so eerie
Into sleep I do not doze
Suffering this wakefulness
Unable to even dream
Within this night of dreariness
Wanting just to scream
The long night never ending
The sleepless horrid night
The dawn is now impending
With it's ever piercing light
Another night of dreamless sorrow
Ends with break of torturous break of day
Perhaps my dreams will come tomorrow
When in darkness again I lay
beautiful poem the sleepless night thank for share TIM
'Perhaps my dreams will come tomorrow When in darkness again I lay' Perhaps! Let's hope so! The night seems endless, the ticking of the clock blows hammer in the ears, , the twisting of the pillow brings no result, with the chirping of birds at early dawn, call it quits and get up! Discomforts of sleeplessness well portrayed.
