Six Formal Limericks Poem by robert dickerson

Six Formal Limericks

Rating: 4.0

</>There was a young lady named Muffet
Who was frequently seen on a tuffet
Who took in a boarder
Who paid her but bored her
And finally told him to stuff it.

But the days before payday grew shorter
And needing a lover or boarder
Accepted a spider
A wannabe writer
Who worked as a fashion reporter.

And wasn't she pleased when the gallant
Exhibited musical talent
And as they did play
She could hear herself say
'Why, his playing is excellent, excellent'!

And she wondered just what she should do
For he paid and he played, it was true,
As she looked in his eyes
Which were four, if not five,
And were certainly greater than two.

But when he commenced to sing
He resembled a one-eyed king
In the land of the blind
So she said 'I don't mind',
'You awfully big, hairy old thing'.

'So what would you like to play'?
She asked at the end of the day
'A Schubert sonata'?
'Delighted. Whynotta'?
'Vierhandigemusik's the thing'!
