Sinking.. Poem by Rick Adriolo

I am sinking..
Sinking deeper into the darkness
I try to stop by holding onto everyone
But all are letting me go
So I'm sinking..

I can still see the surface but its to far away for reaching
I can still see the light on the surface but were I'm going there is only darkness..

I am sinking..
Sinking deeper as the pain grows
It's inside and so much hurting
So much weight on top of me
So I'm sinking..

I can see the bottom but there is more than darkness
I can see the light reaching deeper and giving hope..

I am rising..
Rising for I wont fear the day I'll be on my own
For I will be strong then and therfore never alone
I'm reaching high to the surface
For I am rising and all on my own..
