Sing Me Awake Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Sing Me Awake

Rating: 5.0

Sing me awake
From a hopeless manifesto
Create an epic venture
Written in notes
Mirroring the light
From the highest peaks
Of the heavens above

I have died many times
Confounded by life
Wondering if this soul
Has been misplaced
Billions of light years away

What is my place?
Fate has a funny way of unfolding
Feeling invisible at times
All the while
Being stuck
In the middle of a large crowd
Wondering where time has gone

And who am I?
Nothing here to show
So many thoughts
Taking me hostage
Stoic by perplexing imageries
Where do I go from here?

Angel, would you sing me awake
Been slumbering on way too long
Please show me the light
Fly me high
Towards the highest of peaks
Upon the pinnacle of love
The furthest reaches
The heavens abode

Take me home
Living and breathing
To a loving paradise
Where I will always be yours

I do not have much
But what I have is
Everything I could ever give

Sing me away
To the highest peaks
Of the heavens above
Please, take me home

I will always be strong
