Since The Day You Left Me... Poem by Hyde

Since The Day You Left Me...

Since the day you left me
my heart burns with your tainted fire.
Tears caused by dreamy memories fall each night
reflecting on when you still yearned for my desire.

My arm would be free of these fading scars
but now I bleed fresh blood.
I look for you with dizzy eyes, knowing
that the day will end with heart my heart choked with mud.

Alleyways look so inviting as I pass them by,
they whisper, “come with me if you wish to be forgotten”.
Dazzling images flicker through my mind
leaving them spoiled and rotten.

I have no idea what I am saying
as I scream into the darkness.
My sanity smoothly becomes lunacy
due to your daggers and their sharpness.

The rain slides down my face as I twirl and spin,
blurring any thoughts of you.
My feet get tangled and confused as they bring me to the ground,
sprawled and sobbing I still lay, among the fresh dew.
